Gall Stones » symptoms
In most cases patients with gallstone do not show any symptom. Occurrence of pain in the right upper part of the abdomen is the most common symptom. The pain is called as attack since the pain comes in episodes. The attack can occur with an interval of few days or few weeks or some months. The pain will start usually in 30 minutes after taking meals that had high cholesterol content. The pain may last for up to 5 hours, usually in night it can be severe. The pain may spread to right shoulder and back. Other symptoms: • Biliary colic (gallstone pain) • Nausea and vomiting • Jaundice • Fever • Intolerance for fatty or greasy foods • Acute cholecystitis (inflammation of gallbladder) • Indigestion, belching, bloating • Clay coloured stool |
