Question (Posted on :  06 Mar 2008 )

I am 27 years old married woman and i have irregular periods. I consulted a gynaecologist and she prescribed ecosprin-65mg and MCBM for 3 months. Can these medicines correct my periods? Will irregular periods result in weight gain. I have 166cm height and 68kg weight.
Doctor's Response (Posted on : 06 Mar 2008 )

MCBM-69 is a combination of folic acid, mecobalamin, pyridoxine hydrochloride. These are basically vitamins and folic acid given to ensure appropriate health for the baby during or before pregnancy. Ecosprin is given to reduce the risk of clots, and is given in cases with any period irregularities. Your BMI is 24.7 and you are only borderline overweight. Your problem may be polycystic ovarian disease, this needs an ultrasound to confirm.
