Question (Posted on :  02 Mar 2009 )

Hello doc, I am a 27 year old married woman (married for 10 months). I have PCOS and my gyn suggested to take Janya pills for till this January and then try for a baby. Is this safe? Can I delay the pregnancy till this december or would it be a risk since I have PCOS. thanks
Doctor's Response (Posted on : 02 Mar 2009 )

PCOS can cause delays in conception but it is not a risk if you wait till december of 2009. Janya contains Drospirenone and Ethinyl estradiol and is a contraceptive. It reduces any acne and weight gain issues. However this is not a treatment for PCOS, it is only a contraceptive.
