Doctor's Response (Posted on : 30 Aug 2008 )

Since the endoscopy is normal it seems to me that the problem you face is gastropathy i.e. a reduction in the nerve supply to the stomach leading to a feeling of bloating, burping etc. But before you jump to the fanciful diagnosis that I have mentioned above I would appreciate if you get in touch with your diabetologist to see if you have drugs for diabetes that can cause abdominal discomfort such as acarabose, aspirin etc. Do not panic, the solution for this is simple split your meals into small frequent feeds and paradoxically reduce the fiber content of your food since the food seems to stay a bit longer in your tummy. In case the symptoms are quite irritating then it would be OK to get in touch with a diabetologist or neurologist from your city in order to get prokinetic agents e.g. domperidone etc for relief. Of course, strict control of diabetes and BP is a must.#13;#10;#13;#10;If you want us to recommend a doctor please let us know your city. Regards Clinical Team @ Clinnovo
