Is it important to locate d site of infection?
Doctor's Response (Posted on : 05 Oct 2008 )

If the presentation is clear cut for tb, then anti tb therapy can be started. A nuclear bone scan may pick the active disease area. Screening the body part by part by mri or ct may not be of value. If the complaintas are generalised only, not amouting to affection of a localised area then no need to locate or pin point the disease. The idea of localising the site may be of value to prevent further damage by the disease process and leading on the complication at that site say the spinal cord.
