Doctor's Response (Posted on : 02 Oct 2008 )

Your wife seems to be 'obese' in appearance. What is her height and weight? If you are able to ascertain from her doctor that her Body Mass Index is over 26 or 27, she should start regular exercise like walking, jogging, etc for 3 to 4 km everyday. Let her eat more salads and proteins like Rajma, Chana, etc. Egg white is allowed, not the yolk. 1 litre of milk is mandatory as milk or curds. No non-vegetarian food. No deep fried stuff---chips, etc. Children should be taken on a walk, to instill in them the right habit and allow her to exercise in a relaxed mood.
