my mother (72 years) is having lot of memory problem. she keeps forgetting things that happened very recently. do you think she has alzheimers ? how can we know ?

hi approximately 105 of all persons over the age of 70 have significant memory loss and in more than half the cause is Alzeimer disease you didnt mention about ,what other symptoms your mother have anyhow the conditon seems to be cortical dementia ?Alzeimers disease. the diagnosis mostly on clinical basis ,still we have lab investigations like neuroimaging (CT,MRI brain),and we supposed to exclude the other causes of dementia in the early stages(thyroid,vit deficiancis,brain tumor,drug intoxication,infection,severe depression) there is no cure for alzeimers disease.the drugs present available for this condition is donepezil,rivastigmine,galantamin,memantine
