Question (Posted on :  21 Oct 2008 )

I'm 31 and my wife is 30 and we are 1.5 years old married couple. soon after wedding my wife was convived and then misscarried in two months. Now she has joined me in Saudi (after one year separation) five months back. We are expecting for good news, but still nothing. What medication should we take and what are the Precautions we should take (if any). Please advice what are the best dates for us to have sex so that we can expect a positive result. This days we concentrate from 10th day till 15th day (after periods). We are in need of your advice please.
Doctor's Response (Posted on : 21 Oct 2008 )

Do not take any medication without consulting a doctor. If your wife has regular 28 days cycle/periods, egg would be released around day 14. This could vary a few days or - both sides. If you have sex on alternate days around the time of egg release, you have a good chance of conceiving. The days we would recommend are between Day 10 and Day 20. You could ceratinly have sex at other times also as you wish.Abstaining at this time does not help. Do not use any lubricant at sex.Five months is too short a time to worry. If within the next few months your wife is not pregnant then please take her for a check up and you need to have a check up and semen analysis done.
