Question (Posted on :  24 Oct 2008 )

My 49 years old spouse has got schizophrenia and is taking Trinicalm Forte from the last 22 years on a daily basis. These days, whenever he takes two tablets on a day, he is normal. When he takes one, his behaviour becomes erratic and he becomes violent, yells at small things and is suspicious about each and every thing. Please advise.
Doctor's Response (Posted on : 24 Oct 2008 )

Schizophrenia as a disorder is seen often but varies in its form, content, and severity from one individual to the other. Besides this, it will be useful to educate yourself about the disorder as this will allow you to cope with it better and also know how to take better care of your husband. The internet is full of information on Schizophrenia. In such cases, we first look at symptomatic relief and later address the issue of cure. One of the latest treatment modalities that has been found to be very effective with Schizophrenia is RTMS or Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.
